New Upper East Side Restaurants and Cafes Fall 2016

There is no shortage of great eats in our neighborhood, and it seems like everyday new places are opening. To welcome in the fall season, we made a list of new and upcoming restaurants and cafes in and around the Upper East Side Lenox Hill Neighborhood of the 1871 House


Restaurants/Cafes:

Pick A Bagel

This popular bagel chain opened an UES location and we couldn’t be more excited! In addition to an assortment of bagels, the new shop offers hot breakfast like omelettes and sandwiches and salads for lunch. 785 Lexington Ave between 61st & 62nd Streets.


Avra
Avra Madison is an authentic bi-level greek restaurant located just steps from central park. The 207-seat eatery offers traditional greek cuisine with an emphasis on fresh seafood. 14 East 60th St.

Perrine French

Perrine, the newly re-imagined restaurant at the iconic Pierre Hotel, offers seasonally-inspired fare and daily specials of vintage Pierre classics. 2 E. 61st St. on Central Park

Fatty Fish
Fatty Fish Restaurant seamlessly blends the best culinary traditions of Europe and Asia, using Western cooking techniques and Eastern ingredients to craft elegant seafood dishes. It recently revamped its entire menu to include such items as ramen. 406 E 64th St.

Wok Chi

Moving up from Florida,
this fast-casual chain of Asian stir-fry restaurants opens its first New York
location. Expect made-to-order bowls like king pao, BBQ black bean and general
not-so-so’s with choice of protein, veggies, base and spice level. 918 3rd
Ave. between E. 55th and E. 56th Sts.

Bareburger
The popular burger chain opened a Midtown East location. 52nd btw 2nd and 3rd and 1370 1st Avenue (73rd Street)

Sofia Pizza Shoppe
In response to the overwhelming demand for delivery and take-out pies, Sofia Pizza Shoppe opened and is the sister location to Sofia Wine Bar. 989 First Ave (54th-55th St.)


Coffee:


Cafe Americano 
Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Cafe Americano is an all-day coffee and cocktail cafe from the people behind popular UES restaurants The East Pole and Pizza Beach. 964 Lexington Ave between 70th and 71st Sts.


A Little Taste
A Little Taste café offers delicious daily delivered local pastries, freshly roasted coffee and invites the customer to encounter “a little taste” of Europe. 234 East 60th St

Flora Coffee
Coffee, pastries, and takeaway sandwiches will be available to Museum and neighborhood guests during daytime hours when the Museum is open. 945 Madison Ave at 75th St

Joe & The Juice
Danish import Joe and the Juice is bringing its bifurcated beverage concept to the UES with a shop on Lexington Ave. 993 Lexington Ave btw 71st and 72nd Sts.


Sant Ambroeus
The Sant Ambroeus Team is opening a new Upper East Side Third Avenue Cafe. The newest cafe will offer specialty coffee and traditional Milanese fare. 1136 Third Avenue & 66th St

Opening Soon:

Tavern 62 

Tavern62 by David Burke is a modern American tavern. The menu will feature American plates as a reflection of Chef Burke’s contemporary approach to cooking, with a nod to elevated New York classics paired with a curated wine list, craft beers and a specialty cocktail program. 135 E. 62nd St. between Lexington and Park Avenue.

Flora Bar
The duo behind mega popular Estela in NoHo plan to open a restaurant at the Met Breuer. It will be located on the lower level of the museum that opens out onto a private, outdoor seating area. The restaurant, will open next month in two parts: Flora Coffee, for breakfast and simple lunch fare, and Flora Bar, where dinner will be served, with lunch to follow later this fall. The menu will be long on vegetables and seafood, in an informal setting, with service that’s relaxed yet precise. 945 Madison Ave at 75th St

La Goulue
Esteemed French restaurant La Goulue is set to reopen just four blocks away from its original location at 29 East 61st Street. It closed its Madison Avenue location in 2009 after 36 years.
Majorelle
Two esteemed veterans of New York’s fine dining scene are joining forces to open a new restaurant in the old Post House space at the Lowell Hotel, Majorelle. It will be French cuisine with Mediterranean touches. 28 E 63rd St
Sweetcatch Poke
The team behind Manhattan’s popular Korean barbecue restaurant Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong is getting into the fast casual game with a poke cafe, which will open in October. 642 Lexington Ave between  E.54th and E. 55th Sts.
